Search Jasper County Criminal Dockets

Start with the court, not the paperwork. A Jasper County criminal docket lists the charges, filings, settings, and rulings in one criminal case, and three different courts hold them. Circuit, Justice, and municipal courts each keep their own criminal records, so match the citation or papers to the right court first. The Circuit Clerk holds the fullest case history. A public calendar helps you spot a Circuit hearing date. The court name, cause number, and current setting are the details worth gathering before you search the Jasper County criminal docket.

Jasper County Criminal Calendar Labels

The public Circuit calendar keeps the court’s schedule readable. It does not pretend to be a full criminal file. Jasper listings have used headings such as Criminal Docket, Arraignment, Pleas, Status, Revocation, Drug Court, PTI Breach, Citation/Status, Juvenile Jail Status, and Jail Review. There are also separate trial-week labels. A heading tells you what kind of event the court plans to call. Nothing more. The heading alone never establishes a final outcome in the case.

Arraignment
A formal criminal appearance connected to the charge and plea process.
Status
A case-management appearance that can include a later trial date.
PTI Breach
A pretrial-intervention review label, not a final revocation by itself.
Jail Review
A custody or status review that should be confirmed with the responsible court.

Some restricted subjects get neutral labels on the calendar. Juvenile details may be withheld even when a general label appears. For a signed result, the Circuit docket or the clerk’s file is still the record source.

What a Criminal Docket Shows

A Jasper criminal docket opens with a header, then follows the case in date order. Start with the header. It can carry the cause number, court and judicial district, judge, filing date, case type, style, and a status or flag. From there, the register may list filings, notices, motions, orders, and settings. Pleas, judgments, and appeal events can appear there too. The public calendar is a handy setting snapshot. But it shows no document images and no complete financial record.

Cause numberDisplayed examples include 25-cr-23, 25-cr-31, and 226-cr-5. They are examples, not a universal format rule.
Case styleFor a criminal matter, the caption normally identifies the State versus the accused party.
SettingCalendar entries can show the event type, date, time, judge, place, and sometimes a later trial reference.
DispositionA public calendar has a Disposition column, but the signed order or clerk register confirms the actual result.
DocumentsIndictments, orders, plea papers, sentencing records, and certified copies come through PAMEC where permitted or the clerk.

Financial detail does not live on the public calendar. For costs, fines, bond, restitution, or any specific record, ask the Circuit Clerk rather than reading a calendar row as a balance statement.

Jasper County MEC Criminal Flags

The Thirteenth Circuit MEC CourtInfo page lists flags for the criminal process. They help you place an entry within it. They include Arraignment Pending, BOUND OVER, Plea Pending, Pretrial Interv Pending, Probation, Probation Viol Pend, Final Judgment Issued, Nolle Pros Pending, Nolle Prosse Order TBE, and APPEAL. Read a flag as a navigation clue. It never replaces the underlying order.

BOUND OVER means a preliminary matter has moved toward trial-court prosecution. Final Judgment Issued tells you final judgment was entered. Conviction Order TBE means an order is still to be entered. Nolle Prosse Order TBE likewise calls for confirmation of the signed order. For a case-specific reading, compare the date-ordered register against the clerk’s copy.

Jasper County Criminal Calendar Cross-Check

Checking a Jasper Circuit criminal event means comparing county, cause number, style, event type, judge, time, and place against the notice in hand. A criminal table can also show Disposition and Attorney. The calendar carries no indictment, order, plea, sentencing, or judgment images. Those records stay with PAMEC or a clerk request.

A status row can point to a later trial date. Treat it as a cross-reference. It is not current confirmation and not a complete Jasper County criminal docket history.

Stages on a Criminal Docket

Many Jasper cases start with a complaint or indictment. From there the case can run through preliminary work, arraignment, pretrial events, plea or trial, disposition, sentencing, and an appeal. Felony grand-jury and trial work sits on the Circuit side. Justice Court may handle a preliminary proceeding first, before the felony reaches Circuit Court. Each stage can produce more than one entry. So read a single calendar label together with its date. Check any later order too.

Docket flow: Filing or Indictment › Arraignment › Pretrial › Plea or Trial › Disposition › Sentencing or Appeal

A plea setting is not a final judgment. The same goes for a trial heading, a status event, or a revocation review. The current register or the signed order is what settles the question.

Jasper County Criminal Docket Call

Criminal trials in the Thirteenth Circuit get their dates at docket call. That makes docket call a scheduling step, not the trial itself. Treat it that way. The 13th Circuit general information page tells you who to contact. That is the right judge's court administrator. The administrator can add or remove motions and criminal matters, or confirm a trial date.

Judge Sullivan's administrator can be reached at 601-782-4413, and Judge Sorey's at 601-782-9999. Call them about the current setting. For the filed record itself, go to the Circuit Clerk. One caution on calendars: an old month page and a later calendar page can disagree. The later entry is only a working clue. Confirm it with the administrator or clerk before you rely on it.

Jasper County Criminal File or Calendar

The free calendar and the criminal file answer different questions. A calendar tells you what Jasper Circuit event is set, where, and before which judge. The file tells you what was actually filed. It also shows what was ordered or entered. PAMEC can supply eligible non-restricted material. The Circuit Clerk holds the filed record and handles copies.

A calendar field can help you locate a case. But a signed judgment, indictment, order, or certified docket needs the real source. Get it from the electronic file or the clerk.

Which Court Holds Criminal Dockets

Venue drives any Jasper criminal docket search. The Jasper County courts information page names the court. Circuit Court handles felony trials and Circuit matters. Circuit Clerk Billy G. Rayner keeps the Circuit criminal files in Paulding and Bay Springs. The Circuit First Judicial District number is 601-727-4941, and the Second Judicial District is 601-764-2245.

Misdemeanors belong to Justice Court too. So do felony preliminary proceedings, warrants, and county citations. Those sit in Justice Court District 1 and District 2. Justice Clerk Hope McCullum is the county-listed contact. District lines are 601-727-2247 in Paulding and 601-764-2065 in Bay Springs. Bay Springs, Heidelberg, Louin, and Montrose municipal matters stay in their own city court channels. A city ticket does not reach the Circuit Clerk. It gets there only if an appeal or later Circuit matter opens its own file.

Jasper County Criminal Docket Custodians

Go to the office that actually holds the record, not just the calendar. The Circuit Clerk can search and copy Circuit filings, indictments, pleas, signed judgments, sentencing orders, bond records, and a certified docket. A visit to the clerk's office is also the documented place to view eligible electronic civil and criminal documents. That access runs during regular business hours. Court restrictions still apply. The county publishes no permanent self-service terminal location. Call before you travel.

A written mail request works best when it names the cause number, the parties, the document or date range you want, whether you need a plain or certified copy, your contact details, and how you want delivery. The county offers no standard criminal-copy form and no guaranteed turnaround. Never mail cash. The Circuit Clerk lists brayner@co.jasper.ms.us. But there is no published copy-request email protocol. So call before sending anything sensitive.

Jasper County Criminal Docket Limits

Public access does not mean everything is visible. PAMEC limits public users to non-restricted cases. Sealed or juvenile material may be missing, limited, or hidden behind a neutral calendar label.

When an older record is hard to find, ask whether the Jasper County criminal docket is electronic, bound, indexed, microfilmed, or archived. Then ask what rule controls access.

Public Access and Sealed Criminal Dockets

Mississippi courts start from a policy of public access. Even so, a criminal docket can be limited by statute, court rule, protective order, or a court-specific process. PAMEC covers non-restricted cases only. It can withhold juvenile, sealed, expunged, protected, or attorney-only information. It is not a certified record. If access is refused, ask the custodian which rule or order controls the item and what review process is permitted.

Access rules to keep in view:

Mississippi courts’ public-records policy starts with openness while allowing lawful limits on inspection and copying.

Miss. Code §25-61-5 supplies the general public-records framework, although court files can be governed by judicial rules and orders.

Mississippi Administrative Code Part 2, Chapter 6 requires a certified court order for expunction processing and treats that order as nonpublic.

Send any formal public-records request to the actual Jasper custodian, and describe the record precisely. The judiciary is a separate branch of government. So the Act cannot be assumed to override a court rule or order. If a court record is denied, ask the clerk or court for the controlling authority. Ask also for the permitted review process.

Keep one point in mind. A docket entry records court activity. Read it only for the specific case, hearing, filing, or outcome it actually identifies.

Jasper County Criminal Expunction Orders

An expunction is a court-order process. It is not a request to scrub a web listing. Mississippi's administrative rules require a true certified order. It must carry the needed arrest, identity, and statutory information before anything goes to the Criminal Information Center. The order must bear the court's embossed seal. An MEC EXPUNGED flag can signal the status. Yet the related material may still be restricted from public view.

For the operative document, ask the Circuit Clerk. Ask for the certified order and the current copy quote. The Mississippi Code route lists Circuit Clerk certification at $1 per complete document and staff copies at $1 per page. But confirm the charge at the local counter before paying. A plain calendar entry never substitutes for the certified order.

The Mississippi Secretary of State's Mississippi Code landing page is the official route. Use it for checking the cited fee provisions and the applicable statutes.
